The Royals drafted Bubic in 2020, where he spent seven seasons with the club. He made a name for himself during the 2025 season when he earned his first, and only, MLB All-Star appearance so far in his career. That season ended up being cut short after he suffered a rotator cuff strain.
This season, Bubic has a 3-2 record in nine starts. He departs from the Royals with a 4.12 ERA, 39 strikeouts and 20 walks in 39.1 innings. He is currently on the 60-day injured list with an elbow and shoulder injury.
As for the Dodgers, the rich only get richer after also acquiring two-time reigning Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal from the Detroit Tigers .

Duran joins the Royals after spending the entire season with the Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate Oklahoma City Comets. Duran's only MLB appearance came in 2025, when he played with the Athletics
He will provide the Royals with another arm in a bullpen that has struggled greatly all season long.
The MLB trade deadline takes place on Monday at 5 p.m.
