Here's everything NFL Draft fans need to know about Miami edge defender Rueben Bain Jr. :
Height:6-3
Weight:275
Age:21
Strengths
A complete package of explosiveness and power, Bain can beat you any way he wants as a pass rusher. His first-step quickness off the ball is startling, and he packs a ton of power that can put opposing blockers on skates. He's got strong, violent hands that allow him to control the point of attack and prevent offensive linemen from keeping him locked up in the ground game, and he uses devastating chop and rip moves to get himself free on the way to the quarterback. He's got a strong lower body that provides a reliable anchor against the run, and his nonstop effort allows him to chase down plays from anywhere on the field. Bain has a knack for making clutch plays in critical moments when the defense needs it most, and he's a smart defender who doesn't find himself out of position often.

Weaknesses
Bain's biggest question mark will be a lack of ideal length, which could present challenges against NFL tackles with longer wingspans. He can be a devastating run defender when flying downhill to the ball, but shifty running backs can stress his tackling technique in space if they have even a small window to shake him before he shows up. Though he wins often with pure physical prowess or his initial move, Bain would benefit from developing a wider range of effective counters as a pass rusher.
Final Analysis
While he has some room for growth, and his arm length might not meet ideal thresholds for certain teams, Bain is a pro-ready pass rusher who has proven he has the tools to dominate 1-on-1 matchups and get to the quarterback early and often. His run-stuffing ability gives him true three-down value at the next level, and his combination of size, power and explosiveness could make him a double-digit sack artist for years to come.
