The Los Angeles Lakers wasted no time getting to work on the second day of the NBA's free agency negotiation period, with Sandro Mamukelashvili among the players the agreed to terms with. Players cannon officially ink new contracts until July 6, but the former Seton Hall big man took to social media to express his thoughts on his pending move.

"Excited to be part of the Lakers family," Mamukelashvili wrote along with purple and gold hearts.
Sandro Mamukelashvili's new free agency contract with the Lakers is reportedly for four years and worth around $52 million. He also has a player option for the fourth year of the deal. The No. 54 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, the New York native is coming off a productive season with the Toronto Raptors.
He appeared in a career-high 80 games, including 13 starts, at a little over 21 minutes per game. He received votes for the league's Sixth Man of the Year Award while averaging a career-best 11.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists with splits of 52.3 percent shooting from the field, 38.9 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 74.7 percent shooting from the free-throw line.
While nothing is anywhere close to being set in stone right now, Mamukelashvili projects to be a starting forward for the Lakers this upcoming season, barring any additional big moves. The incoming six-year veteran began his career with the Milwaukee Bucks, and has also played for the San Antonio Spurs. Although he played high school and college basketball in the United States, he is of Georgian descent and has represented his country during FIBA competition.

Among the Lakers' other offseason moves thus far were the re-signing of Austin Reaves , acquiring Walker Kessler via sign-and-trade with the Utah Jazz and coming to terms with free agent guards Colin Sexton and Quentin Grimes. The team also selected Cameron Carr in the NBA Draft.
