Can the Tigers expect production from their prospects in 2027?
The Detroit Tigers graduated several of their most prominent prospects to the major leagues in 2026, but president of baseball operations Scott Harris believes another group could be on the way next season.

During his season-ending press conference, Harris specifically mentioned Max Anderson, Zyhir Hope and Josue Briceño when discussing players who could factor into Detroit's plans in 2027.
"I expect them all to contribute to our team next year," Harris said.
The three represent different points in Detroit's player-development pipeline, but all have moved themselves close enough to the majors to become legitimate options next season.
Hope may have the highest ceiling of the group. Acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Tarik Skubal trade, the 21-year-old outfielder quickly became one of Detroit's top prospects. His combination of power, athleticism and plate discipline was on display after joining Double-A Erie, including a home run during the Eastern League championship series.

The Tigers already have Riley Greene and Max Clark in the major league outfield, which gives the organization some flexibility with Hope's timeline. There is no reason to rush him, but another productive stretch in the upper minors could put him in position for a major league opportunity sometime in 2027.
Briceño has been one of the organization's most productive offensive prospects over the past several seasons. The left-handed hitter has continued to show power while handling increasingly advanced pitching, and Detroit has experimented with him at both catcher and first base as the organization tries to determine where his bat fits best defensively.
Anderson presents a different profile. The former second-round pick has steadily advanced through the system while producing at the plate and playing multiple infield positions. His defensive versatility could provide a more immediate path to Detroit if the Tigers need help at second or third base during the season. It was rather surprising that he did not get a call up the last month of the season but the Tigers may have other plans for him in 2027.
Detroit's farm system looks different than it did a year ago. McGonigle and Clark have graduated, and several other prospects reached the majors during 2026. Now, what the Tigers will need is another arm that can help.
The next question is whether the system can continue supplying players behind them.
Based on Harris' comments, Anderson, Hope and Briceño are the three names closest to getting that opportunity.
