- Scott Sinclair on the biggest Georgia football 'freaks' now and recent past

Scott Sinclair has helped mold the talent that Kirby Smart and his staff bring in to Georgia football .
Sinclair has been by Smart's side for all of his time with the Bulldogs and he's the guy you see on TV pulling him back on the sideline when he gets too worked up with officials.
As the director of strength and conditioning, Sinclair has worked with 21 NFL first-round picks and 84 total NFL draft picks under Smart.
The question is which players past and presents are the biggest "freaks" that have stood out since he started in Athens in 2016?
College football writer Bruce Feldman of The Athletic puts together an annual 'Freaks' list from summer training of what he described as 'freak' athletes. The guys at whom teammates and coaches marveled.'"
Georgia wide receiver London Humpheys (No. 32) and defensive lineman Elijah Griffin (No. 94) are in his top 100 this year. He cited Humphreys' 11-5 broad jump, 35 ½ vertical jump and power cleaning 315 pounds and Griffin broad jumping 9-5 at 310 pounds with a 29 ½ inch vertical and power cleaning 355 pounds.
"Exceptional athletes, strong powerful and fast," Sinclair said on Wednesday Aug. 12 when he joined several Georgia assistant coaches in a fall camp media availability.
Sinclair identified Humphreys and Griffin as the top dogs this year as workout warriors, but what about through the years as he enters his 11thseason at Georgia?
" Nick Chubb stands out as a guy that was on that," Sinclair said. " Ben Cleveland was really strong and we've had a number of guys throughout my time that could make that list easily."
Chubb in 2015 said his workout routine back home in Cedartown during breaks included using a VertiMax system to improve power, speed and his vertical jump, along with weightlifting and power-cleaning.
Cleveland, according to a 2021 ESPN.com piece, was said to be able to squat 700 pounds and have a personal best on the bench press of 545 pounds.
Sinclair said of this year's team "we have a lot of guys on our team that can make the list, but we don't do so much a ton of testing anymore with our guys. I think the game of football has changed, and so the one rep max testing that I might have done in my first year of coaching, we don't do it now."
He said Georgia's power clean test goes up to 92 percent of their estimated one rep max and players do one or two reps. Georgia's bench and squat test is at 85 percent with three sets of two.
"We're training football players," Sinclair said. "We're not putting a platform or a squat rack on the 50-yard line and whoever squats the most wins the game."
