Scouting Saturday Week 1: 8 prospects for Packers fans to watch
The first round of the 2027 NFL Draft is 236 days away and Week 1 of the college football season is upon us. Let's dive into some prospects for Green Bay Packers fans to watch for today's slate of games.
Clemson vs. No. 11 LSU ( 6:30 p.m. ABC )
Dominick McKinley, DT, LSU: At 6-6 and 300 pounds, McKinley has impressive size. He plays with good quickness and power to invade gaps. The consistency isn't always there, but there is no denying the traits and potential the former five-star recruit possesses. Clemson could have two interior offensive linemen hear their name get called during the 2027 draft and this opener will be a good test for McKinley.

Elliot Washington II, CB, Clemson:The Penn State transfer has quick footwork and the speed required to play at the next level. He has the movement skills to stay attached and run routes for the wide receivers. Playing opposite Ashton Hampton, a likely Top 40 pick, Washington will likely be tested early and often this season.
Baylor vs. Auburn ( 2:30 p.m. ABC/Disney )
Cody Sigler, DT, Auburn: A former zero-star recruit, who started his collegiate career at West Alabama before transferring to Arkansas State last season, Sigler is going to get tested out of the gates during his first game with the Tigers. During his lone season at Arkansas State, Sigler recorded five sacks. The former Division II standout has good quickness off the snap and force to collapse the pocket.
Tony Livingston, TE, Baylor:A Florida transfer, Livingston could be a favorite target for fellow former Gator DJ Lagway. During his final two seasons with the Gators, Livingston hauled in 22 receptions and two touchdowns. With his size (6-6), he could be more of a focal point in Baylor's offense.

Boston College vs. Cincinatti (2:30 pm Fox)
Max Tucker, CB, Boston College:Tucker is sticky in coverage and has efficient movement skills to turn and run without throttling down. Teams won't be drafting him for his physicality in the run game. You'd like to see him be more aggressive and urgent in that department. If he doesn't show improvement there this season, he'll likely not be on Green Bay's radar. However, there is no denying his coverage skills.
Joe Cotton, OT, Cincinnati:Last season was Cotton's first season with the Bearcats after transferring from the University of South Dakota. Cotton started 13 games at left tackle last season and has 40 starts to his name . At 6-6, 321 pounds, the Sioux Falls, South Dakota native has the size, coordinated feet and strength that NFL teams are looking for in offensive tackles.
South Dakota State Univeristy vs. Northwestern (7 p.m. Big Ten Network)
Quinten Christensen, OT, SDSU:Christensen has started 30 straight games at left tackle for the Jackrabbits. A former tight end, Christensen is a gifted athlete and a gritty run blocker. If the Jackrabbits are going to pull off the 'upset' they'll need to keep Chase Mason's jersey clean and Christensen will play a vital role in making that happen.

Griffin Wilde, WR, Northwestern:Another Sioux Falls native, Wilde is set to take on his former team and recorded 71 receptions for 880 yards and eight touchdowns during his first season with the Wildcats after transferring from SDSU. Wilde is a detailed route runner and his route tree has plenty of branches. He has reliable hands and if it's in zip code he'll likely come down with the catch. With his size, route running and strong hands, Wilde could be a potential Day 3 target for the Packers .
