The Seattle Seahawks have been looking for ways to retool and replenish this offseason in the wake of their 2026 Super Bowl win , the second in the franchise’s storied history. The Seahawks have watched some key faces walk out the door in free agency, including Super Bowl MVP running back Kenneth Walker III , who joined the Kansas City Chiefs , but still are poised to bring back most of their championship core heading into next season.

Recently, Brady Henderson of ESPN broke down a name that the Seahawks could pursue on the remaining free agent market who would help provide even more depth along their vaunted defensive line.

“With the Seahawks still in need of edge help, Dante Fowler Jr. remains a top option. DC Aden Durde coached him in Atlanta and Dallas . He ranked 31st in pressure rate at age 31 last season. Seattle had him in for a free-agent visit pre-draft then did not take any edge players,” reported Henderson on X, formerly Twitter.

Fowler Jr. remains a respectable name in the NFL today, even as his production has been up and down over the last few seasons, which has featured numerous stops around the league.

The Seahawks have indeed lost some depth in the edge rushing department in this free agent period, including most notably Boye Mafe , who took his talents to the Cincinnati Bengals .

The Seahawks’ defense line was arguably the biggest strength last year on a team that didn’t have any real weaknesses, with head coach Mike Macdonald’s schematics consistently confusing opposing offenses looking to establish a rhythm.

In any case, the Seahawks’ 2026 schedule is slated to be announced early next Month.
