We didn't see this move coming.
The Denver Broncos have fired offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero first reported on Tuesday. Lombardi, 45, has served as Denver's OC since 2023 when he reunited with head coach Sean Payton. Lombardi previously coached under Payton with the New Orleans Saints from 2007-2013 and again from 2016-2020.

After firing Lombardi, Denver could, in theory, promote offensive pass game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Davis Webb to offensive coordinator if he does not land a head coach job elsewhere. Webb is believed to be one of the top candidates for the Las Vegas Raiders ' HC opening.
