The club announced in an official medical update that a date for the player's surgery will be set in the coming days. From then on, regular updates will be provided on his recovery and the expected timeframe for his return to the pitch.
Guruzeta's absence is a major setback for Edin Terzic's tactical plans. The Gipuzkoa-born striker had established himself as a key figure in Bilbao's attack thanks to his goalscoring ability and excellent link-up play.
With such an important player sidelined, the sporting management and coaching staff will need to reshape the attack. The team are entering a decisive stretch of the competition and will need other members of the squad to step up and replace his goals.
