With free agency officially underway, the Seattle Mariners have made decisions on several players with club options.
On Thursday, the Mariners made the decision to exercise the club option on closer Andres Munoz and declined the respective options on starting pitcher Bryce Miller and outfielder Victor Robles.

Here's a breakdown on the number and the background on all three players.
Andres Munoz, closer
Munoz is coming off a down season after back-to-back All-Star campaigns. He posted a 4.24 ERA and struck out 89 batters in 57.1 innings pitched across 61 appearances while having 28 saves in 38 opportunities. His 10 blown saves were tied for the most in the major leagues with the Detroit Tigers' Kyle Finnegan.
Munoz's club option is for $9 million in 2027. It's his second year of three consecutive club options Seattle has the right to exercise. He played under a $9 million club option in 2026. The M's have a $10 million club option for 2028, which is the last season Munoz is under team control.
Bryce Miller, starting pitcher
Miller and Seattle were unable to come to terms on an arbitration figure last season, which resulted in an unusual resolution for the team.

The two sides came to terms on a one-year, $2.4525 million contract in 2026 which included a $6.075 million club option for 2027.
Declining the option doesn't make Miller a free agent. Rather, it will return the starting pitcher to the arbitration process with the Mariners.
Seattle choosing to decline the option indicates the organization believes it will be able to pay Miller less than the option for next season, which would be former Texas A&M product's second year under arbitration. He's currently under team control through 2029.
Miller began the year on the injured list with a left oblique strain and didn't make his major league debut until May 13. He had a solid, if not tumultuous, first half of the season that saw him involved in a piggyback situation with veteran Luis Castillo, who was ultimately dealt to the Chicago White Sox at the trade deadline.

Miller's production tapered off in the second half of the season. He finished with a 4.13 ERA and fanned 119 batters in 118.2 innings pitched across 22 outings (21 starts).
Victor Robles, outfielder
Robles' tenure with the Mariners began well. He was signed after being released by the Washington Nationals midseason in 2024 and played well enough that Seattle agreed to terms with him on a two-year, $9.75 million extension that included a $9 million club option for 2027.
Injuries plagued Robles' final two seasons in the Pacific Northwest. He missed almost all of 2025 with a left shoulder fracture and dislocation. This year, he was out from April 8-May 22 with a right pec strain and used exclusively in platoon, pinch-runner or late defensive substitute situations.
He finished 2026 with a slash line of .256/.315/.308 with a .623 OPS in 66 games and hit three doubles and two triples with nine RBIs. He stole 10 bases in 12 attempts.
