- Seattle Seahawks sign Wisconsin tight end as undrafted free agent
Wisconsin tight end Lance Mason signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent , per Aaron Wilson , landing an NFL opportunity after a one-year run in Madison that still produced all-conference recognition.
Mason earned second-team All-Big Ten honors from the league's coaches in 2025, a notable finish for a player who spent only one season in the program. In a Wisconsin offense that has leaned heavily on tight ends across eras, Mason's quick impact stood out as he carved out a role substantial enough to draw attention from NFL evaluators despite going unselected.

For the Badgers , Mason's deal with Seattle continued a familiar pipeline: Wisconsin has long marketed the tight end spot as a pro-ready position, built on physicality, blocking value, and route work over the middle. Mason's All-Big Ten nod underscored that he fit that profile quickly, turning a short stint in the program into a résumé line that translates to an NFL camp setting.
In Seattle, Mason will enter a crowded offseason competition where undrafted signees typically need to earn their way through special teams and assignment-sound practice reps. Wisconsin fans will watch next to see whether Mason can stick through rookie minicamp and training camp as the Badgers ' latest tight end to push for a roster spot.
