Second Texas Tech basketball player heading to transfer portal
A second Texas Tech basketball player headed elsewhere has announced his intention to enter the transfer portal.
Freshman Nolan Groves announced on social media he will be departing Texas Tech after one year with the Red Raiders. The 6-foot-5 guard was the Minnesota Gatorade player of the year as a senior at Orono but struggled to find the floor in his time in Lubbock.
Groves had previously been committed to Yale before power-conference programs such as Wisconsin and Minnesota started offering him in high school. He wound up as a Texas Tech commit last April.

After starting the first two games of the season, Groves averaged just 5.7 minutes per game in 23 appearances this season. He joins sophomore wing Leon Horner as Red Raiders who have announced they're headed to the portal.
