March Madness 2026 bracket revealed on NCAA Selection Sunday

It's Christmas Day for bracketologists .

Those who study in the dark arts of predicting what the NCAA tournament bracket finally got a look at the selection committee's actual bracket and where they were right and where they were wrong.

It's Selection Sunday.

The Selection Show aired on CBS at 6 p.m. and we now finally know what the bracket looks like as the paths to Indianapolis

NCAA bracket set: Last four in, first four out

NC State, Texas, SMU and Miami (Ohio) were the last four teams in, with the RedHawks getting the final spot after a 31-0 regular season and quarterfinal Mid-American Conference tournament loss to UMass.

The committee's first four teams out: Oklahoma, Auburn, San Diego State and Indiana.

East Region

West Region

Michigan State gets 3-seed in East Region

Death, taxes, and MSU playing in the same bracket as Duke. At least that's what it seems like every Selection Sunday.

The Spartans were knocked out early in the Big Ten Tournament by UCLA and might get a chance to redeem that loss in the Round of 32, as the Bruins are the 7-seed.

The Duke Blue Devils are the 1-seed, UConn is the 2-seed and Kansas is the 4-seed.

Will Miami (Ohio) make NCAA Tournament?

Will Miami make it into March Madness, after a 31-0 regular season? The RedHawks were ousted in the Mid-American Conference Tournament quarterfinals Thursday by 8-seed UMass, 87-83. (UMass then lost to 4-seed Toledo, 77-67, to finish the season 17-16.) Here's a look at Miami's bracketology projections:

  • USA TODAY Sports : 11-seed in First Four vs. 11-seed Texas.

  • ESPN : 11-seed in First Four vs. 11-seed Missouri.

  • CBS Sports : 11-seed in First Four vs. 11-seed Missouri.

  • Fox Sports : 11-seed in First Four vs. 11-seed Texas.

  • The Athletic : 11-seed in First Four vs. 11-seed SMU.

  • On3 : 11-seed in First Four vs. 11-seed Missouri.

  • BracketMatrix : 11-seed.

Bracketology last team in, first team out

For ESPN last updated overnight early Sunday, Joe Lunardi's last team in is Texas. His first team out is Oklahoma.

USA TODAY Sports updated its bracket projections just before noon Sunday, with the last four in being Texas, Missouri, SMU and Miami (Ohio) . Its first four out are Oklahoma, San Diego State, New Mexico and Auburn.

Michigan State bumped to 3-seed in some bracketology

Both USA TODAY Sports and CBS Sports have pushed MSU to the 3-seed, with Iowa State leapfrogging the Spartans in USA TODAY's projections and pushed down by Purdue in CBS' experts. (MSU won at Purdue, 76-74, in late February.)

MSU, the 3-seed in the Big Ten Tournament, lost to 6-seed UCLA, 88-84, in the quarterfinals Friday, revealing its thin margin in the upcoming 2026 NCAA Tournament .

USA TODAY has MSU in the South Region facing 14-seed Troy in San Diego.

CBS has the Spartans as a 3-seed in the East vs. North Dakota State.
