In this episode of Sens Nation, The Hockey News' Ottawa Senators Podcast, site editor Steve and co-host Gregg Kennedy get you set for Saturday's season opener against the Toronto Maple Leafs and discuss the biggest story of the week: Thomas Chabot being named the 11th captain in Senators history, with Claude Giroux, Jake Sanderson and Tim Stützle serving as alternates.

We also dig into Ottawa's growing injury concerns, with Artem Zub and Andre Burakovsky ruled out and questions still surrounding Sanderson and Warren Foegele. What could the Sens' defence look like on opening night, and where does Carter Yakemchuk fit?
Plus, Travis Green pushes back against criticism of the way he handles injury updates, the Sens introduce their new emergency backup goalie, and we look at how William Eklund fits into Ottawa's revamped forward group as the post-Brady Tkachuk era officially begins.
In our NHL roundup, we discuss Gavi McKenna's interrupted solo rookie lap, a goalie goal, Anaheim paying 7 mill to a guy who's played 14 games, and Jack Hughes taking exception to a reporter's joke.
The wait is over. New Sens season. New Sens captain. New hope. Let's go.
