Pittsburgh Penguins game vs. Philadelphia Flyers
The Pittsburgh Penguins' playoff opponent is set, though the schedule is not. By virtue of beating the Carolina Hurricanes in a shootout Monday at Xfinity Mobile Arena, the Philadelphia Flyers clinched third place in the Metro Division and a date with the Penguins in Round One.
The season series is a split of hockey statistics. The Penguins are 2-0-2 against the Flyers, while the Flyers are 2-2-0 against the Penguins.

The Flyers took advantage of the Penguins' shootout struggles, winning a pair of skills competition games, first on Oct. 28 at the Xfinity Mobile Center, 3-2, then on March 7 at PPG Paints Arena, 4-3.
The Penguins won their games in regulation, beating the Flyers 5-1 on Dec. 1 at Xfinity Mobile Arena, and 6-3 at PPG Paints Arena.
It is the first playoff appearance for the Penguins since 2022, and the first appearance for the Flyers since 2020.
The Penguins have home ice advantage in the 2-2-1-1-1 seven-game format. Even though the NHL has not yet set the schedule for Round One, the Penguins are selling tickets via Ticketmaster for Games 1 and 2 here .

Of course, Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has tortured the Flyers for the entirety of his career, scoring more goals and registering more points against them than any other team, and more than any player has ever scored against the Flyers. Crosby has 139 points, including 60 goals in just 93 games.
