The Carolina Hurricanes are off to a very solid start during their Stanley Cup title defense.
Carolina has won its last six games in a row, but a tough test lies ahead with a five-game West Coast road trip.
It's about this time every year that the Hurricanes head out west due to the North Carolina State Fair.
Next up on the Hurricanes' schedule is a matchup with the Winnipeg Jets.
Before the Jets clash, the Hurricanes announced two pieces of news regarding star players Taylor Hall and Seth Jarvis.

During the Hurricanes' last game (a win against the Capitals), Taylor Hall had to be removed from the contest, and Rod Brind'Amour has since noted that Hall is 'week-to-week'.
Along with Jordan Staal's injury, Hall's injury has led to Carolina recalling both Bradley Nadeau and Felix Unger Sorum to make their season debuts.
As for Seth Jarvis, it was announced that he will travel with the team during their five-game road trip, which indicates that his return timeline could be imminent.
Seth Jarvis was expected to miss the first 4-6 weeks of the season due to labrum surgery in the offseason, and while he's still a little ahead of schedule, Carolina might want to play it safe with Jarvis, especially after the strong start to the new campaign.
