Taking a similar route to the Super Bowl , FIFA has this year arranged a finals halftime show. As per a report from Global Citizen, Madonna, Shakira , and BTS are scheduled to perform during halftime of the World Cup final.
The 2026 World Cup final is set to take place on Sunday, Jul. 19, 2026, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. This will mark the first time FIFA will host a halftime show during the World Cup finals. Also, as per another report by Billboard, the show is expected to last around 11 minutes.
Coldplay’s Chris Martin, along with Elmo, Cookie Monster from Sesame Street, and The Muppets’ Kermit and Miss Piggie, announced the news in a social video. They also face-timed BTS in the promotional video.
“Curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin and produced by Global Citizen, the show will raise funds for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, improving access to quality education and football for children around the world,” read the report by Global Citizen.
