How is Shay Whitcomb eligible for Korea in the WBC?

Whitcomb is eligible for the World Baseball Classic because his mother is Korean, according to the Korean Herald .

He's actually one of three Korean-American players on the Korea team thanks to Korean mothers, along with Jahmai Jones and Dane Dunning . The WBC has pretty open eligibility rules, so having a mother from a given country is more than enough for a player to suit up for that nation in World Baseball Classic action.
