📸 After shocking foul on Stiller: VfB now a man up against Atletico
VfB Stuttgart now have an advantage in their first real European test in the Champions League against Atletico Madrid. The Bundesliga side will play the final 25 minutes with an extra man.
The reason: Morten Hjulmand launched into a reckless sliding tackle on Angelo Stiller in the centre circle, catching the Stuttgart midfielder on the shin with his studs up. Stiller was able to play on afterwards.
Referee Serdar Gözübüyük brandished the red card and sent Hjulmand for an early shower. VfB therefore have a numerical advantage for the closing stages in Madrid. That could prove decisive.

Stuttgart took the lead through Jamie Leweling in the first half (38'), but Julian Alvarez equalised two minutes after the restart.
