Skip Bayless believes Tom Brady 's decision not to back the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX has more to do with his competitive drive and Drake Maye 's rise than any desire to stay neutral.
Tom Brady, the seven-time Super Bowl champion and former New England Patriots quarterback, said he would not pick a side when New England face the Seattle Seahawks , insisting he simply wants to enjoy a good game.
Bayless has offered a different view, suggesting Brady is less detached than he has presented publicly and that his stance is shaped by legacy and competition.

Skip Bayless argued that Tom Brady's competitive nature makes it difficult for him to fully embrace the Patriots' return to the Super Bowl without him under centre.
Bayless said, before claiming Brady is unsettled by how quickly New England have found a new quarterback.
"I think in his heart of hearts, he wants to pick Seattle. That, he can't get away with. He'll just go neutral. This guy was psycho competitive on the football field."
"He turned into somebody you didn't even know when he was playing quarterback. Because of that, I don't think he loves the fact that all of a sudden, New England has a new golden boy at quarterback."
"I think it's a little threatening to him. He just doesn't want to embrace it and fall all over it… It eats at him a little bit that all of a sudden, it hasn't been that long since he was a Patriot. Wait a second, they got another Tom Brady?"
When asked about the Patriots facing the Seahawks, Tom Brady made it clear that his stance was not about favouring one team over another.
He said he did not have a rooting interest and wanted to see good football, good decisions, and a high-quality contest, while also acknowledging the Patriots' new chapter under Mike Vrabel.
Brady did not reference Drake Maye directly, nor did he suggest any resentment toward the Patriots' current success, leaving Bayless' claims firmly in the realm of interpretation rather than response.
