Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen would jump at the chance to join Real Madrid, sources have told Football Insider.
The Spanish giants have identified the Dutch international as a clear target to strengthen their goalkeeping department in the upcoming windows.
Real view Verbruggen as the ideal long-term replacement for Thibaut Courtois, who is out of contract at the end of the season.
Sources say that Verbruggen would "find it hard" to turn down the chance to move to Madrid if the chance arose for him any time soon.
The 24-year-old has excelled for the Seagulls in recent seasons, and that has prompted him to attract attention from one of the world's biggest clubs.
Verbruggen has already kept six clean sheets from just nine Premier League games so far in 2026-27, and has been a huge part of Brighton's early success.
Brighton approaching pivotal Bart Verbruggen stage
Brighton are well-rehearsed when it comes to dealing with interest in their players from elite clubs, and Verbruggen is just the latest in a long line of names to attract interest.
The former Anderlecht youngster has established himself as one of the Premier League's leading shot-stoppers, and has continued to take his game to new levels in recent years.
He ranked third in the Premier League for goals prevented last term, and already has the joint-most clean sheets in the division in 2026-27.
Verbruggen also impressed for the Netherlands at this summer's World Cup, and his stock has continued to rise dramatically since then.
That has coincided with Brighton approaching a potentially pivotal stage of his future, as he is out of contract in the summer of 2028.
That could potentially leave the South Coast outfit exposed to a sale next summer, as they are now getting to the stage where they need to either consider that option or tie him down to a new deal.
'Arsenal are actively watching Brighton sensation' ahead of 'big-money move' Arsenal actively watching Brighton sensation
Former Tottenham scout Bryan King told Football Insiderback in October that Brighton striker Charalampos Kostoulas is already being tracked closely by Arsenal.
The 19-year-old is enjoying a breakthrough campaign in the Premier League, and already has three goals and two assists from the opening nine league games.
King is adamant that Arsenal are already keeping a close eye on Kostoulas, who has made a name for himself in recent months.
Brighton are accustomed to dealing with interest in their key players, and they are expected to act in their calm and measured manner as always.
