Victor Wembanyama won't overestimate the San Antonio Spurs' Game 4 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Finals, knowing there's still a lot at stake.
Wembanyama has been achieving expectations as one of the top stars in the league, especially in Year 3. He brought San Antonio back to its first postseason since 2019, getting them to the West Finals for the first time since 2017.
However, Game 4 proved to be an important contest for him and San Antonio. They trailed 2-1 in the series after falling in Games 2 and 3, putting the pressure on them to bounce back and compete with the defending champions. Fortunately for them, they answered in dominant fashion by torching the Thunder 103-82 to even up the series.
Wembanyama reflected on the win after the game. He knows the team's limited playoff experience is playing a role in their struggles against the Thunder, hoping they can use this Game 4 win as momentum for the remainder of the postseason.
"We had never been in this kind of situation before. It was our first deficit in the playoff series, and we just responded. It was nothing amazing, it wasn't magic, we just did what we needed to do. And the series is far from over. We got 6 more wins before we can rest," Wembanyama said.
