The Stanford Cardinal kicked off the 2026-27 season with a big 37-27 home win over the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors in Week 0. The program will participate in its second contest of the season with a Week 1 matchup against the No. 7 Miami Hurricanes. Unfortunately, the offense will be down four players for this one.

Reports indicate that Stanford is projected to be without four starters on the offense , three of whom are offensive linemen, according to Pete Thamel of ESPN. On top of that, edge rusher Gabe Kaminski is also ruled out for the Cardinal's game against the Hurricanes.
"Sources: Stanford will be without four projected offensive starters and a key defender against No. 7 Miami tonight in Palo Alto," Thamel reported. "Stanford has three projected offensive line starters out with injury – LT Niki Prongos, G Simione Pale, and C Aidan Kilstrom. Wide receiver Nico Brown is out along with EDGE Gabe Kaminski, who had 1.5 sacks against Hawaii."

Prongos, Pale, and Kilstrom are all dealing with undisclosed injuries. Pale did play in the Week 0 season opener, but did not finish that contest. Stanford wideout Nico Brown's injury is also undisclosed, while Kaminski's injury is also currently unknown. More details should emerge in the coming hours.

Stanford is scheduled to take on Miami at 9 p.m. EST on Friday, September 4. Quarterback Davis Warren will have a chance to prove himself against a top-ranked opponent early in the season. He finished Week 0 with 310 passing yards and one touchdown while completing 22 of his 34 attempts, giving him a 64.7% completion percentage.
