The Pittsburgh Steelers provided a big update on Broderick Jones , specifically on where he'll line up once last season's severe neck injury is behind him.
Speaking with reporters on Wednesday, Campen revealed that Jones, when healthy, will not move inside to guard and will continue to line up as an offensive tackle.
"Well, [Jones] will play tackle, Campen said. "Obviously, he'll be a tackle. And just hoping that he needs to get healthy, and he's doing what he can now, and he does participate with all the doctor rules and those things. We're just excited to get him back, and when he's ready, then that's another piece of the puzzle I'd say. That's a good football player."
In 2023, the Steelers traded up in the first round of the NFL Draft in order to select Jones with the 17th overall pick. Despite an underwhelming first two years in the league, primarily at right tackle, Jones switched back to his natural position on the left side in 2025 and showed real promise before an unfortunate neck injury shut him down late in the season.
Based on Campen's comments, Jones may face a competition at either left or right tackle with Troy Fautanu and Dylan Cook , respectively, with first-round rookie Max Iheanachor also waiting in the wings for his shot.
