The Pittsburgh Steelers faced a tough 27-24 loss to the Cleveland Browns on Thursday night, but they dodged a major long-term disaster regarding defensive tackle Derrick Harmon. Harmon initially raised serious concerns when he was carted off the field in the second quarter due to a left foot injury and was later seen wearing a walking boot. Fortunately, early reports from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network indicated that he is expected to miss only a few weeks.

Despite avoiding a season-ending injury, immediate roster adjustments were necessary due to the medical timeline. After the game, Coach Mike McCarthy confirmed the team's decision in a report shared on X by Ian Rapoport: Harmon will be placed on injured reserve.
By putting Harmon on IR, he will be required to miss a minimum of four games, which will be a significant setback for Pittsburgh's defensive line. As the Steelers work to bounce back from their divisional defeat, the coaching staff will need to rely on their defensive depth to fill the gap while Harmon recovers. The team remains hopeful that once his mandated time on injured reserve is complete, he will return to strengthen the front line for the remainder of the season.
