With the Atlanta Falcons releasing Kirk Cousins on Tuesday, could the Pittsburgh Steelers be a landing spot for the veteran QB? Bookies.com came up with a hypothetical betting odds for Cousins' next team in the 2026, and the Steelers are the budding favorites at +225 (30.8%).
The Minnesota Vikings , the place where Cousins previously played, have the second-best odds at +450 (18.2%).
"The Pittsburgh Steelers will likely try to convince Aaron Rodgers to play another season for them now that Mike McCarthy is their head coach. But if Rodgers retires or goes elsewhere, then the Steelers will likely seek a veteran quarterback," Adam Martin of Bookies.com wrote. "They might find someone in the draft, but even if that's the case, expect the Steelers to add more competition. Cousins will likely be at the top of their wish list."

Cousins would probably be the Steelers' top fallback option if Aaron Rodgers decides not to return to the Steelers. General manager Omar Khan hasn't set a deadline for Rodgers to make his choice by, but the former doesn't anticipate waiting as long as last year.
Cousins started the 2024 season as the starter and led the Falcons to a 7-7 record, passing for 3,508 yards, 18 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. He was benched in favor of Michael Penix for the final three games. The Falcons kept Cousins on the bench in 2025, even after much speculation about what his next step would be.
Cousins started in eight games in relief for an injured Penix, posting a 5-3 record, and passing for 1,721 yards, 10 touchdowns and five interceptions.
His experience, accuracy, and decision-making would make him a natural fit in Mike McCarthy's West Coast–style offense, which emphasizes quick reads, timing routes, and short-to-intermediate throws.
