Taylen Green had an absurd showing during his workouts at the NFL Scouting Combine. The Pittsburgh Steelers surely took notice of the Arkansas quarterback, who is visiting with the team's decision-makers on a pre-draft visit on Monday.
Green, who stands over 6-foot-5 and weighs 227 pounds, ran a 4.36-second 40-yard dash and posted a 43.5-inch vertical jump and a broad jump of 11 feet, 2 inches. All three marks are records for a signal-caller since at least 2003.
Green is projected to go in the fourth or fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft later this month.
"A long, rangy, dual-threat quarterback with upside, Green's ability to generate explosive plays as a runner and passer helped keep his offense afloat," NFL draft analyst Lance Zierlein wrote in a scouting report. "His ability to win with his legs on called runs or pocket breaks pushes his value beyond his passing profile. Green's upside will be tantalizing but his ceiling will only track with his growth as a passer."
Green's 40-yard dash time eclipsed Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III , who had a 4.41-second effort in 2012. Green threw for 2,714 yards, 19 touchdowns and 11 interceptions last season, while also rushing the ball for 777 yards and eight scores.
The Steelers have also hosted Miami 's Carson Beck and North Dakota State's Cole Payton on pre-draft visits.
