The Pittsburgh Steelers have waived an undrafted rookie following his struggles in the preseason matchup against the New York Jets .
On Sunday, the Steelers waived rookie kicker Laith Marjan, less than a week after he missed a 44-yard field goal against the Jets, which ultimately contributed to the preseason shutout loss to New York.
Marjan, who played at East Carolina (2022-2023), South Carolina (2024), and Kansas (2025), made 30 of 34 field goal attempts during his collegiate career, as well as 82 of 84 extra-point attempts.
The undrafted rookie kicker looked solid for the Steelers in the preseason-opening win over the Green Bay Packers , successfully kicking all three extra points. Still, it was nearly impossible to make the final cut with Chris Boswell on the roster, and a missed field goal was all it took for Pittsburgh to cut the experiment a little short.
