Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. provided an important injury update pertaining to whether or not he'd need surgery for his foot setback.
According to Pittman, surgery is not only unnecessary, but it also likely wouldn't fix the injury he's dealing with.
"Pittman added the injury is something 'surgery can not fix' and it's not an option currently on the table," Penn Live's Nick Farabaugh wrote via X . "He's going to continue to rehab, try out different shoes and cleats to see how it feels, and return as soon as he possibly."
Pittman, who was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, was traded to the Steelers in March 2026 in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick. During his seven-year NFL career, Pittman has caught 492 passes for 5,343 yards and 25 touchdowns in 98 games.
Pittman's foot injury first popped up Week 2, and he unfortunately re-aggravated it during practice in Week 5. This led to him being placed on injured reserve on October 10 and has missed Weeks 5 through 8.
Pittman's surgery update wasn't the only news he shared, as the Steelers wide receiver also hinted at a potential return date.
