Phoenix Suns All-Star Devin Booker passed up the final shot for Jalen Green , who missed in the final moments of a 114-110 loss to the Portland Blazers in Tuesday's Play-In Tournament. Booker took most of the blame for the Suns , while getting the rest of the credit to Blazers All-Star Deni Avdija , who led Portland with 41 points and 12 assists.
Booker says he passed up his chance to force overtime when he saw Green had enough space for a potential game-tying 3-point attempt, he said, per AZCentral's Duane Rankin.
"He had it going the whole night. I can take that shot, too, to force overtime," Booker said. "But I saw Jrue [Holiday] sleeping a little bit and Jalen shifted to the open space."
Now, Booker and the Suns, with their backs against the wall, will have one last opportunity to make it into the playoffs, which the All-Star guard is very much looking forward to.
"You spend the night looking at what we could have done better to not go down 14 early. And just get ready for Friday once we know who we're playing against."
Jalen Green led the Suns with 35 points on 14-for-29 shooting. The Suns will face the winner of Tuesday's Play-In Tournament matchup between the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Clippers .

Suns All-Star Devin Booker gave Blazers All-Star Deni Avdija credit for his 41-point double-double that led his team to erase a 14-point deficit. Booker took the blame for the Suns' shortcomings on the offensive end of the floor, while also pointing to defending Avdija.
"Defensively, letting Deni get downhill and make plays and get in our paint," Booker said. "And me missing five free throws."
The Suns will face either the Warriors or the Clippers on Friday.
