Earlier in the week it was reported that Devin Booker was nearing a return, now likely to suit up next week.
Following Booker's positive injury news , the Suns made a roster move Friday, waiving former North Carolina Tar Heel, Cole Anthony .
Although Anthony was acquired over three weeks prior at the February 5 trade deadline, he never appeared in a game for the Suns.
Anthony was part of the three-team deal that saw Phoenix part with both Nick Richards and Nigel Hayes-Davis in return for Anthony and Amir Coffey .
Prior to waiving him, NBA insider John Gambadoro reports that the Suns were trying to see if a buyout between them and Anthony would be possible. However, that did not end up the case.

With the open roster spot gained by waiving Anthony, Phoenix is expected to convert Jamaree Bouyea 's two-way contract into a standard deal. Bouyea starred in the G-League for the Valley Suns and has earned 33 NBA appearances this season as a result.
Following that move, the Suns will have one final two-way contract slot open, allowing them to sign one more contributor for the rest of the season.
That said, two-way players are not eligible to compete during the playoffs.
Next, the Suns will face the Sacramento Kings away from home Tuesday before a three-game homestand beginning Thursday against the Chicago Bulls .
