Pius Suter put the first chink in the armor of Canada, but it was not enough for Switzerland to pull off the upset.
The St. Louis Blues center scored a power-play goal, the first goal Canada has allowed in two games, at 12:42 of the first period, but it was all the upset-minded Swiss could muster up as Canada remained undefeated with a 5-1 win over Switzerland at the 2026 Winter Olympics inside Milano Santagiulia Arena in Milan, Italy on Friday.

The Swiss evened their record after a 4-0 tournament-opening win over France, while Canada is a perfect 2-for-2 after Jordan Binnington and the Canadians blanked Czechia 5-0 on Thursday.
Binnington, who made 26 saves in the opener , was given the night off and was scratched as Logan Thompson ( Washington Capitals ) got the nod on Friday with Darcy Kuemper ( Los Angeles Kings ) serving as the backup.
Blues defenseman Colton Parayko was a plus-1 and had a shot on goal in 16:58 playing alongside Shea Theodore ( Vegas Golden Knights ) after Parayko's familiar partner, Josh Morrissey ( Winnipeg Jets ), did not play after leaving the win over Czechia with an undisclosed injury.
* Slovakia 3, Italy 2 --Dalibor Dvorsky and Slovakia remained perfect in the Olympics but not after receiving a scare from the host country.

Dvorsky had one assist on a power-play goal by by Libor Hudacek that gave Slovakia a 1-0 lead at 3:51 of the second period.
Dvorsky, who has a goal and two assists in two games after tallying the game-winner and assisting on an insurance goal in a 4-1 win over Finland to open tournament play , had three shots on goal in 15:04 of ice time.
* Finland 4, Sweden 1 --Philip Broberg and Sweden were on the short end of a fierce rivalry game on Friday.
After a Olympic-opening 5-2 win over Italy, the Swedes were not able to overcome a desperate Finnish side that could not afford to lose each of its first two games.

Broberg only played 12:55 in the game and had no points and was even on plus-minus because he took a hit to the right shoulder area from Finland's Roope Hintz ( Dallas Stars ) in the third period but was able to return to the game.
