The Los Angeles Dodgers could trade for Tarik Skubal and add another superstar to their clubhouse. Detroit would likely ask for starting pitcher Emmet Sheehan and more, but Tyler Glasnow wouldn't be included, as the player said in an interview . The Dodgers would be in a prime position to give Skubal a record-breaking contract, and he would be the best pitcher on the best team in MLB during the 2026 season.

The New York Mets have been linked to Skubal for months, and the need for a Cy Young Award-winning pitcher is even stronger. New York would likely have to send starting pitcher Jonah Tong to the Tigers if they didn't include Nolan McLean . The Mets need stars after losing Pete Alonso and Edwin Diaz , and Skubal would bring the organization back to the MLB Postseason in 2026.
Boston Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox already have Garrett Crochet , so adding Skubal to the rotation would create one of the best one-two punches in MLB history. Boston would likely have to include starting pitcher Connelly Early and second baseman Kristian Campbell to complete a deal. The Red Sox would become one of the powerhouse teams in MLB and become the favorites to win the AL East.

The New York Yankees need a big-time starting pitcher, and Skubal would be a great addition. New York would likely need to include outfielder Jasson Domínguez and much more, as the team's package might not be as strong as other organizations. If the Yankees want to keep up with the Toronto Blue Jays this offseason, trading for Skubal would put them back on top of the AL East.
Baltimore Orioles

The Baltimore Orioles need starting pitching, so why not trade for Skubal? Baltimore could complete a deal by sending out infielder Jackson Holliday , but they would need to feel confident about Skubal's future with the organization. The Orioles have already acquired Alonso, Taylor Ward , and others this offseason, and adding Skubal to the mix would make them the favorites to win the AL East in 2026.
