Few people in the Bengals' locker room know Trey Hendrickson better than Tee Higgins, and Higgins didn't pretend otherwise Thursday when asked about Sunday's trip to Baltimore. Hendrickson faces Cincinnati for the first time since he left for the Ravens in March, and earlier in the day he said he has forgiven his former team.
"That's my guy, man," Higgins said . "I hope he [does] well, but I hope he don't."
Higgins and Hendrickson share a history
"I got the utmost respect for Trey," Higgins added. "He [has] always been good to me, so I got a lot of respect for him."
The two went through plenty together. In the spring of 2024, Hendrickson requested a trade, joining Higgins , who was playing on the franchise tag at the time. Higgins eventually got his long-term deal, a four-year, $115 million contract in March 2025. Hendrickson never did. The Bengals declined to give him an extension, and after an injury-shortened 2025 season, he signed a four-year, $112 million deal with Baltimore.
"As a Christian, I forgive, and obviously I move on," Hendrickson told reporters in Baltimore .
He's still getting going in purple. A broken finger in his Ravens debut cost him two games , and he has two sacks in four games. His team-high 20 pressures, per PFF, say he's closer to the player who piled up 61 sacks in five seasons with the Bengals.
Tee Higgins is on a career-best pace

Through five games, Higgins has 27 catches for 423 yards and a touchdown. That's 84.6 yards per game, a pace for roughly 1,438 yards that would blow past his career high of 1,091 from 2021. He played through a groin injury late against Jacksonville , finishing with 11 catches for 157 yards with Ja'Marr Chase out, then was held to two catches for 22 yards when the Bengals survived Miami in Week 5.
None of it has come on the deep shots. His longest catch is 29 yards, and 21 of his 27 receptions have gone for first downs.
"It hasn't been a ton of big plays," Higgins said. "It's just been a lot of first downs and a lot of efficient plays."
He doesn't see that as anything new. "I feel like a lot of my whole career has been a lot of 10-yard, 15-yard catches," Higgins said. "Like I said, man, it's just me getting open, trying to get open for my guy, and it's on him to deliver a good ball."
Higgins also vouched for rookie Colbie Young, the fourth-round pick from Georgia , calling him "a hard worker" who "asks a lot of questions."
Baltimore hasn't seen much of Higgins lately. He has missed four of the Bengals' last five games against the Ravens, but in five full games against them since 2021, he averaged eight catches and 93 yards . The 3-2 Bengals are still chasing their first division win, and the 4-2 Ravens may have Lamar Jackson back to meet them.
