Tennessee basketball player Ja'Kobi Gillespie was named among the USBWA Oscar Robertson Player of the Week winners announced on Tuesday.
Gillespie, a senior guard for the Vols, was also named SEC Co-Player of the Week on Monday.
Each week, the USBWA recognizes five players for the award. Gillespie shared this week's award with Christian Anderson (Texas Tech), Braden Huff (Gonzaga), Paul McNeil (North Carolina State) and Stephon Payne (Seton Hall).
His recognition marks the first time during the 2025-26 basketball season a Tennessee player has earned the honor and the third in the last five seasons. Chaz Lanier earned the distinction in 2024-25, while Dalton Knecht earned the honor twice in 2024-25.
Gillespie averaged 19.0 points, 7.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds in Tennessee's victories over Louisville and Gardner-Webb. He recorded a .400 three-point shooting percentage.
Gillespie totaled 23 points, five assists and three rebounds in Tennessee's, 83-62, victory over the Cardinals on Dec. 16. He scored 20 points in the second half and converted 10-of-10 free throw attempts.
