There's a new defensive lineman joining the Houston Texans for the 2026 season.
According to multiple reports , the Texans and former Chicago Bears defensive end Dominique Robinson have agreed to terms on a one-year contract worth up to $4 million. Robinson is now the first free agent from another team to agree to terms on a contract with the Texans on the first day of the legal tampering period.
As a rotational option with the Bears last season, Robinson had 19 tackles, two sacks and three tackles for loss in 12 games. He should serve as the Darrell Taylor option for the Texans, a player who could end up being a decent find on the market while serving as a rotational force for Houston's defense behind Pro Bowler Danielle Hunter and All-Pro Will Anderson Jr.
The Texans spent most of Monday re-signing key players who were expected to test the market. Earlier in the morning, general manager Nick Caserio made a move to retain a key piece of their 12-win roster hours by signing defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins to a new two-year deal worth up to $12 million in guaranteed money.
In the wee early hours of Monday morning, Houston and offensive lineman Ed Ingram agreed to terms on a three-year, $37.5 million deal , keeping him with the franchise through 2028.
