Texas A&M 2026 4-star commit sets rushing record, eyes early signing

With early signing day right around the corner, schools across the country are working to secure their commitments. Having already seen one of their top running back commits flip back to Oklahoma , Texas A&M is fully invested in ensuring 2026 4-star commit KJ Edwards remains their number one priority for the running back room.

On Sunday morning, the Aggies received a positive sign in more than one way from the No. 1-ranked running back in Texas. Edwards posted a graphic with two very encouraging pieces of information for A&M fans and coaches. First and foremost, it shows him in a blacked-out Texas A&M uniform, which bodes well for his commitment to A&M.

Next were his historic career achievements of becoming his high school’s (Carthage Bulldogs) all-time rushing and rushing touchdown leader in school history, which he set in the playoff game against the Sanger Indians . He followed that up with another monster performance , recording 215 total yards and three touchdowns. Every yard and touchdown just adds to the total and his legacy.

If this wasn’t proof enough of his skill set and commitment to Aggieland, he also reaffirmed to Dave Campbell’s Texas Football’s Greg Powers that he plans to make everything official on December 3, which is Early Signing Day.
