Texas A&M lands commitment from elite 2027 4-star WR

Boom! Texas A&M has landed its 12th commitment in the 2027 recruiting class, as blue-chip four-star wide receiver Jade Upshaw, one of the more physical and versatile wideouts in the cycle, committed to the Aggies over Miami, Alabama, and Florida, making things official on Wednesday afternoon.

Before his official visit to College Station on May 29, the Georgia native took an unofficial visit last weekend during Texas A&M baseball's sweep of rival Texas on the diamond, taking in the Aggies' elite facilities that have developed countless NFL players and future Hall of Famers. Upshaw is the first wide receiver commit for coach Mike Elko and new WR coach John Perry, but won't be the last.

Already receiving a prediction to land five-star receiver Eric McFarland III, former WR coach and current offensive coordinator Holmon Wiggins will continue to have a significant influence on every remaining wide receiver target, and should come away with two more commits in the coming weeks/months.

Standing 6'1" and nearly 200 pounds, Upshaw reeled in a career-high 902 receiving yards paired with eight touchdowns during this 2025 junior season, but did miss several games due to injury. Where he'll play in Wiggins' system is still up in the air, but given his physical traits and impressive hands, the Z or slot looks like the best fit.

According to Rivals, Jaden Upshaw is currently positioned as the 61st-ranked prospect in the 2027 class, the 12th-ranked wide receiver, and the 5th-ranked prospect in Georgia.
