Texas A&M’s Tommy Moffitt wins 2026 Power 4 S&C Coach award
Texas A&M football capped a historic season with 11 wins and its first-ever College Football Playoff appearance, and one of the foundational pieces behind that rise has been Director of Football Strength & Conditioning Tommy Moffitt.
On Wednesday, Inside the League (ITL) announced that Moffitt has been selected as the 2026 Power 4 Strength Coach of the Year, an award recognizing the coach who demonstrates the highest level of professionalism and support to NFL scouts and personnel across the country.
Widely regarded as one of the premier strength coaches in the nation, Moffitt played a central role in helping the Aggies finish inside the top 10 to close the season. His impact is also reflected in A&M’s record 13 players invited to the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine , a clear indicator of the development happening under this staff.
Players consistently credit Moffitt for setting the tone during the offseason, bringing an energy that elevates the entire roster and makes workouts feel like something they can “run through a wall” for. His presence has been a massive asset to the program, and with head coach Mike Elko’s new contract including incentives for staff retention, the hope in Aggieland is that Moffitt remains in College Station for years to come.
