- Instant reaction: Texas A&M shuts out The Citadel 41-0
Texas A&M heads back to Kyle Field for the final time this month, set to host The Citadel on Saturday afternoon after falling to Missouri on the road 27-6 in Week 6. Things are bad in College Station, and third-year coach Mike Elko is under pressure to make significant depth chart changes, with SEC road games against Alabama, South Carolina, and Oklahoma left on the schedule.
Texas A&M was nearly flawless on both sides of the ball, as starting quarterback Marcel Reed looked more comfortable in the pocket against a lesser opponent, completing 8/13 for 130 yards and a touchdown, while the Aggie running game produced 246 yards, led by freshman RB KJ Edwards' 116 yards, and Jamarion Morrow's 54 yards and three touchdowns.

The Aggie defense limited The Citadel to 183 yards, pitching its second shutout of the season, as Colorado transfer DB Tawfiq Byard was flying all over the field with seven tackles to lead the defense. The team needed a win before facing Alabama on the road next Saturday afternoon, and we will see if it has what it takes for the rest of the season.
