Texas Tech lands mid-major star Cruz Davis
Cruz Davis has been a staple of New York's college basketball scene for four years. With one final year of eligibility, Davis is leaving the Big Apple area and heading back to his home state.
The Plano, Texas, native has committed to Texas Tech after entering the transfer portal earlier in the week. Red Raiders head coach Grant McCasland is no stranger to working with high-octane backcourt scorers, having worked with the likes of Donovan Atwell, Christian Anderson and Pop Isaacs in recent seasons.
Davis spent the last two campaigns with Hofstra, where he was named CAA Player of the Year last season. Davis averaged over 20 points per game a year ago on 40% shooting from three-point land.
Davis spent an abbreviated sophomore season at St. John's and his freshman season at Iona.
