There's no doubt that the Miami Marlins have stockpiled one of the best groups of prospects in Major League Baseball. While several spots are strong, the team has an amazing array of infielders throughout the organization.
The team's farm system has been rejuvenated under president of baseball operations Peter Bendix , who made even more moves for Miami at the trade deadline to set up the club's future. Grasping at an outside shot at the final Wild Card slot and with the team having a miserable July, the 41-year-old executive stuck to his guns; he followed his blueprint. Rather than ditching prospects for a playoff possibility , he chose to build the Fish's fortress slowly. That's paying off when it comes to the number of great glovemen and slick speedsters who will someday man the 4, 5, and 6 positions at loanDepot Park.

The Marlins (80-82) enter next season with few open spots at their top positions. Shortstop Otto Lopez finished third in batting in 2026, Javier Sanoja is a Gold Glove finalist at third, and second baseman Xavier Edwards is a complete weapon on offense, with a balance of contact, power, and speed that makes him invaluable. They have things locked down for now.
But down on the farm? Miami's long-term outlook is an absolute grand slam, as a fresh wave of high-ceiling, elite-pedigree prospects starts working their way through the organization toward the show.
Arquette & Lombard Lead the Way
Leading the pack is infielder Aiva Arquette , a first-round draft-pick dynamo who arrived as the 7th overall pick out of Oregon State and is currently the Marlins' third-highest-rated prospect. After an injury put him out of action, he appeared in just 49 games. Arquette also suited up in the Arizona Fall League to get extra reps and reclaim valuable development time. Even with limited hacks, he turned on belt-high heaters and flashed serious light-tower power, crushing 11 big flies and driving in 42 runs.

Jacob Lombard, Miami's first-round draft pick in 2026 (14th overall), is a blue-chip hometown phenom at shortstop who brings top-tier prospect pedigree: scouts say he has 'plus speed' and light-tower power, great hands up the middle, and a high baseball IQ.
Lombard got his first taste of pro ball with Single-A Jupiter right after earning his initial call-up. In a quick cup of coffee, he batted .220 with four round-trippers, 17 RBI, and 11 stolen bases across 22 games. Those box score stats actually matter less than the extra innings of experience as the teenage phenom learns to catch up to mid-90s pro heaters and handle the daily grind of a full 162-game slate.
The front office isn't going to fast-track Lombard, so expect him to keep cooking and climbing the ladder in the minors through 2027. His call-up to The Show is still a few seasons away, but his superstar ceiling makes him a central piece of the franchise playbook.
Infield Depth in the Organization
Starlyn Caba brings a whole different flavor of star power to the diamond. At 5-foot-9, the 20-year-old shortstop isn't a power-hitting slugger, but his vacuum glove, cannon for an arm, and electric wheels up the middle make him a true game-changer in the field.

Caba's leather is pure magic. With instincts, elite range, and a cannon for an arm, he turns impossible web gems into routine groundouts. At the plate, the youngster keeps drawing free passes and flashing top-of-the-scale speed on the basepaths; he could be setting the table in the leadoff spot for years to come.
Don't sleep on Santiago Solarte either. The Venezuelan prospect packs massive size and raw power that has scouts drooling over his upside. At 6'5", he's built more like a power-hitting corner infielder than a middle infielder, though where he sticks on defense is still up for debate as he works his way up through the farm system.
Solarte is still a few seasons away from making his big league debut, and making consistent barrel contact on high-heat pitching will be the key to his journey up the farm system ladder.
The Marlins already have a solid infield group taking the field at the major league level. But with toolsy, high-pedigree prospects like Arquette, Lombard, Caba, and Solarte knocking on the door, Miami's pipeline is stacked and ready to rake for seasons to come.
