Mitchell is going through the second season of his NBA career with the Thunder. He made his way up the ranks as he broke out this season, finishing fifth for Sixth Man of the Year.
In 30 minutes of action throughout Game 3, Mitchell had his way against the Los Angeles defense. He finished with a stat line of 24 points, 10 assists, four rebounds, and three steals. He shot 10-of-17 from the field, including 2-of-4 from beyond the arc, and 2-of-3 from the free-throw line.
Daigneault reflected on Mitchell's performance after the game, per reporter Clemente Almanza. He gave the young guard credit for stepping up in big games but wants him to improve in a specific area as the playoffs progress.
"He's been great in the postseason so far, but he hasn't been overly efficient yet. I think that's a little bit of the intensity of the games," Daigneault said.
