The Minnesota Timberwolves have been on a tear this free agency and offseason. The team has made several moves that clearly point toward winning and could prove to be major additions during its postseason run.

The Timberwolves started the offseason by pulling off a trade for LaMelo Ball, who will now form a dynamic duo alongside Anthony Edwards. Last week, Minnesota made another surprising move by agreeing to a deal with Jonathan Kuminga.
"Jonathan Kuminga has agreed to a two-year, $13 million deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves, plus a player option, agent Aaron Turner tells ESPN. Kuminga will be a starter alongside Anthony Edwards, LaMelo Ball, Jaden McDaniels and Rudy Gobert on the West contender," ESPN's Shams Charania wrote.
Minnesota then traded for former first-round pick Cody Williams to create the necessary roster flexibility for Kuminga.
"The Minnesota Timberwolves have traded Josh Green and cash to the Utah Jazz for Cody Williams and John Konchar, the teams announced Saturday. The Timberwolves are expected to keep Williams, the No. 10 pick in 2024, and waive-and-stretch Konchar, sources told ESPN. Saturday is the final day to waive a player and stretch out his guaranteed salary over multiple seasons," ESPN's Shams Charania wrote.

The Timberwolves still had to make a few moves to finalize Kuminga's contract, but they finally got it done Thursday night.
"According to the NBA transaction log, Jonathan Kuminga officially signed his new contract with the Timberwolves today," NBA insider Brett Siegel wrote.
This is a great opportunity for Kuminga, and if he can develop the potential everyone knows he possesses, Minnesota could become a scary team in the Western Conference. He is still only 23 years old, and many believe a breakout season could be on the horizon.
Kuminga has made $48 million throughout his career. With most of the attention expected to be focused on Edwards and Ball, Kuminga should have plenty of opportunities to carve out his own role in the offense. Minnesota wants to reach the NBA Finals this season, and the organization has made aggressive moves to put itself in position to do exactly that.
