Titans' free agent splash could land Broncos an extra pick in 2027 NFL draft
The Denver Broncos opted to let defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers walk during NFL free agency , and that decision could net the team an extra pick in the 2027 NFL draft.
Franklin-Myers left Denver to sign a three-year, $63 million contract with the Tennessee Titans that averages $21 million per season. The Broncos seem unlikely to hand out that kind of deal this spring, so JFM's departure could result in Denver being awarded a compensatory pick next spring.
OverTheCap.com estimates that JFM's big contract could result in a fourth-round comp pick in 2027. OTC previously predicted that losing running back Javonte Williams and punter Riley Dixon would net the team seventh-round comp picks in 2026.
So far, the Broncos have not traded any of their original 2027 seventh-round draft picks (but that could obviously change). Denver does hold an extra seventh-round pick from the Devaughn Vele trade with the New Orleans Saints .
So, as things stand now, the Broncos are currently slated to hold nine picks in the 2027 NFL draft — just like they do for the 2026 draft .
