Kevin Winston Jr. was back at safety for the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, and he never came off the field. That squeezed Tony Adams, who had started the win in Indianapolis a week earlier, down to nine defensive snaps in the 27-24 loss to the Cleveland Browns.
Adams played 77 of 83 snaps against the Colts, according to PFF. Against Cleveland, he played 9 of 70, and he still made a play, recovering the Harold Fannin Jr. fumble that Anthony Hill Jr. forced in the second quarter. Last week's numbers had Joshua Williams making a case at cornerback. This week, the safety room got sorted out.
Titans' defense went back to its full-time safety pair

Winston, Amani Hooker, Hill, Williams and Cor'Dale Flott all played every defensive snap. Winston tied Hill for the team lead with 13 tackles, though PFF also charged him with three missed tackles. Alontae Taylor, the cornerback whose Week 6 benching started the trade talk, again did not log a defensive snap.
The edge rotation is the number to watch. Jermaine Johnson II played 47 snaps and Jacob Martin played 43. Oluwafemi Oladejo got 15, and he turned them into the Titans' only sack and two pressures, with a 68.6 overall grade from PFF that ranked second on the defense. If Johnson becomes a deadline trade candidate , those snaps have to go somewhere, and Oladejo just made his case.
Elic Ayomanor doubled his workload without Calvin Ridley

With Calvin Ridley inactive because of a hip injury, Elic Ayomanor went from 28 snaps in Indianapolis to 56, matching rookie Carnell Tate. His 26-yard catch on fourth-and-8 kept the tying drive alive, and PFF graded him at 68.0, the best mark among Titans receivers.
Tight end Gunnar Helm also jumped from 33 snaps to 53. In the backfield, Tony Pollard played 47 snaps with Tyjae Spears out, and Michael Carter took 16 in his first extended action since joining the team, per the Titans' postgame notes . Wan'Dale Robinson's 38 snaps were the fewest among the three starting receivers. Pollard's workload is part of why his trade value looks different this week.
