TJ Finley declares for NFL draft after six seasons of college football
It's been a long road for quarterback TJ Finley at the college level, but after six seasons, he is finally set to head to the professional level and try to continue his career there.
According to multiple reports, Finley is expected to declare for the 2026 NFL Draft, instead of transferring to Incarnate Word, which was his announced plan prior to this. Finley has made several stops in his career, starting with the LSU Tigers in 2020, and then transferring to the Auburn Tigers for two years. After that, he moved on to Texas State for a year, then to Western Kentucky for a season, and finally to Georgia State for a season.
In early January, Finley announced that he was transferring to Incarnate Word for his seventh season of college football.
It will be interesting to see where Finley can land in this draft class of quarterbacks, which has some talent at the top but lacks a lot of depth. Finley does present an interesting frame for the NFL, standing at 6-foot-7, 245 pounds, but his inability to stick at a single program over the past several years might draw some red flags for more than a few NFL teams.
In his college career, Finley threw for 7,372 yards, 43 touchdowns, and 27 interceptions.
