Tom Brady Looking to Reunite With MN Vikings Coach
While the Minnesota Vikings close out their regular season with a meaningless contest against the Green Bay Packers , their offseason could not be more important. Kwesi Adofo-Mensah needs to fix the quarterback situation he bungled , and there has to be a re-do for a roster that flopped after a considerable investment .
Kevin O’Connell isn’t going anywhere, but the members of his staff may not all be safe. Rumors regarding Brian Flores have consistently floated during this portion of the schedule since he’s been a coordinator for the Vikings.
This time might be different though. That difference is Tom Brady leading an organization, and wanting to install the Patriots Way within it.

Raiders emerge as landing spot for Brian Flores
There has been some talk about Brian Flores taking a new job in a lateral move to become someone else’s defensive coordinator . He certainly still has his sights on becoming a head coach again, and his former quarterback Tom Brady could provide the opportunity. Mike Florio recently outlined just how that may happen.
The obvious choice would be offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. But that act has already played, and failed, in Vegas. There’s a rumor currently making the rounds that, once Brady rolls up his sleeves, he’ll make the case for bringing in Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores.
As the chatter goes, Flores would be the head coach, and former Giants coach Brian Daboll would be the offensive coordinator. Like Flores, Daboll has extensive experience with the Patriot Way. Daboll was there for the first three Super Bowl wins of the Brady/Belichick era, and for two of the second trio of championships.
Brady and Flores are believed to have a good relationship. Flores was among those in Miami who wanted to bring Brady to town after his time in Tampa.
It has always seemed prohibitive for Flores that his ongoing lawsuit would present a damning challenge when trying to land another head coaching gig. If there’s an organization that would be synonymous with not caring, the Raiders are it.
Pete Carroll came out of retirement to lead the Las Vegas Raiders and it has gone poorly. Brian Flores could not be more of an opposite hire, and Brady knows absolutely what he is getting from a guy he has worked so closely with.

Flores last operated as a head coach during the 2021 season. He owns a 24-25 record despite operating in a franchise where he was kneecapped in multiple facets. Brady putting his faith in Flores and Brian Daboll would be a big swing in the form of doing it the way he experienced while on the field.
It’s still odd to think of Tom Brady, the broadcaster, as an owner. Tom Brady the owner can fall back on his playing days though, and that’s where a desire to infuse a Patriots-like culture comes in. Flores lands a head coaching job once again, and O’Connell finds himself seeking a new Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator if it comes to fruition.
