Top Alabama transfer portal target announces commitment decision
Former Tennessee forward Cade Phillips has reportedly committed to Texas A&M, per On3's Joe Tipton .
Phillips was a top target for the Crimson Tide in the transfer portal prior to his commitment to Texas A&M, and even visited Tuscaloosa recently during "A-Day.". At 6-foot-9, 221 pounds, Phillips would have proven to be an excellent addition for Alabama following the departure of big man Aiden Sherrell.
The former Tennessee forward averaged 3.8 points and four rebounds per game across 10 games in an injury-shortened season a year ago, as Phillips has officially chosen to play for the Aggies in 2026-27.
Phillips was ranked as the No. 42 power forward and the No. 223 overall player available in the transfer portal, per the 247Sports Transfer Rankings . The talented big man shot an impressive 65.4% from the field this past season as well.
Despite missing on Phillips, the Crimson Tide have already landed a pair of transfer forwards in Brandon Garrison and Jamarion Davis-Fleming, the latter of which committed to Alabama on Wednesday night.
