Best NRFI and YRFI Bets Today
Atlanta Braves at Pittsburgh Pirates NRFI (+105)
Braves RHP Bryce Elder is 5-6 with a 4.01 ERA on the season. His first-inning ERA sits at 4.24 , but half of his eight earned runs came in one outing three starts ago. He has kept it clean in the two previous turns. Pirates RHP Mitch Keller is having a down year at 6-6 with a 5.02 ERA. However, he starts games off well with a 2.50 ERA . This is the lone matchup we like the NRFI in.

Los Angeles Angels at Texas Rangers YRFI (+120)
Angels LHP Reid Detmers is 3-6 with a 4.13 ERA. He is so-so in the first with a 4.00 ERA . He has given up five ER in two of his last three starts. On the other side, RHP Nathan Eovaldi is 9-7 with a 4.02 ERA. He has struggled in the first with a 6.35 ERA . We like the YRFI in the Texas heat.
Arizona Diamondbacks at San Diego Padres YRFI (-120)
RHP Merrill Kelly goes for the D-Backs, and he's 6-8 with a 5.71 ERA. It doesn't get better in the first inning with a 6.00 ERA . The Padres turn to RHP Griffin Canning , who is 1-6 with a 6.71 ERA. He, too, is a hot mess in the first inning with a 9.00 ERA . They could have their gloves ready at Petco Park, anticipating snagging a home run.

What Does NRFI and YRFI Mean in Baseball?
The term NRFI indicates no runs scored in the first inning. Its opposite, YRFI, indicates yes, a run will be scored in the first inning. It doesn't matter if the run qualifies as an earned run or not. If a run crosses the plate in the first inning for either team, the wager loses for the NRFI side and wins for the YRFI side.
